The beach of Løkken is on of the best in the northern
Europe. You will find
several miles of fine soft white sand and great waves. Here you will also
see the blue flag indicating that this is one of the best swimming areas with
clean beach and water. A lot of activities find place at the beach including
kite-flying, fishing, horseback riding, beach volley and sand sculpturing
competitions.
Løkken is one of the few places in the world where fishing
boats are still
pulled to shore when they are not in use. The boats are pulled on the beach
with large steel wires. The fishermen sell their fresh catch right at the beach
by their boats.
The town of Løkken offers a lot of nice shops, restaurants
and cafe’s. There
is something for all ages and taste. If you feel cultural you might enjoy a
trip to the Museum of Løkken or to the nearby Børglum Kloster,
a monastery
from the 11th century.
